How do we manufacture an Australian Boat Trailer?
In order to meet ADR (Australian Design Rules) we make the following modifications to the trailer: change the overall trailer width to 98", use a 3500kg or 50mm coupler/actuator, use ADR regulated LED lighting with proper license lamp, use safety chains and clamps that meet the capacity of ADR regulations, put dual brakes and electric over hydrualic brakes where necessary, use metal engraved VIN placards (coming May 2013), and use ADR certified wood bunks.
All trailers leave our plant with a 7-pin harness as we have found that dealers have had issues with transporting the trailers with Australian 12-pin flat harnesses as they do not work with US vehicles. If you require the trailer to be wired with an Australian 12-pin flat harness the option is available. You would also need to purchase an adapter so the trailer will hook up to a US vehicle for transport which we have available as well.
